The Madison Center began in 2004 with one goal: to provide children with access to high-quality speech and occupational therapy.

The journey started when a mother set out to find the best possible care for her daughter, Madison, who was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech at the age of two. Finding specialized treatment was challenging, and accessing the right therapy was not easy. Determined to ensure Madison, and other children like her, received the support they needed, her mother founded The Madison Center as a nonprofit therapy clinic focused on delivering effective, research-based care.

Through intensive therapy and support, Madison grew into a confident and expressive young woman! Her journey continues to shape and inspire the mission of The Madison Center today.

For more than two decades, The Madison Center has remained rooted in downtown Excelsior, serving children and families throughout the west metro community.

As a nonprofit organization, our focus has always been on providing meaningful, accessible care centered around each child and family rather than productivity or volume. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to communicate, participate, and build independence in everyday life.

Our work is guided by a commitment to thoughtful, individualized therapy and long-term support for families navigating developmental challenges.

The Madison Center is a small, family-centered clinic providing pediatric speech and occupational therapy delivered by licensed therapists committed to evidence-based practice.

We take an individualized approach to care, recognizing that no two children learn or develop in the same way. Therapy plans are thoughtfully designed around each child’s strengths, needs, and goals while partnering closely with parents and caregivers throughout the process.

Collaboration is central to our work. We regularly work alongside families, physicians, educators, and other professionals to support meaningful progress that carries into daily life beyond the therapy room.

Families are at the heart of The Madison Center. Since opening our doors, we have remained committed to creating a welcoming and supportive environment where children feel comfortable, understood, and encouraged to grow.
